Counselor Biography - Jaycee Turner

 

Welcome to Scenic Middle School! I hope that this year is a fun yet successful one. My name is Jaycee Turner, and I am one of the school counselors at Scenic Middle School. With a commitment to fostering both personal and academic growth, I am thrilled to introduce myself and outline the range of services and support I provide to our school community.

Currently pursuing my Masters of Education in School Counseling at Grand Canyon University, I am deeply invested in the field of education and the well-being of our students. Holding a restricted license in school counseling through the Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC), I bring a blend of academic knowledge and practical experience to my role.

This marks my second year as a school counselor at Scenic Middle School, and I am incredibly passionate about empowering young minds to navigate the unique challenges of adolescence. Prior to my career in school counseling, I served as a child advocate at a child advocacy center in Oregon. It was during this time that I discovered my passion to support and guide children through pivotal moments in their lives.

I firmly believe that middle school is a transformative period for every student, and I am dedicated to providing the necessary resources and guidance to facilitate holistic growth. Whether it's navigating social dynamics, managing academic pressures, or addressing personal challenges, I am here to ensure that each student feels supported. As we embark on this journey together, I am committed to fostering a safe, nurturing environment where every student has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
